Get In Me: Alex James
Bass player for Blur? Former bass player for Blur? Regardless. He now owns a farm where he makes cheese. Award winning cheese.
He’s pretty much a dream boat. Total package. Total package means owns a cheese farm.

God I love Norm Macdonald. Fiercely and devotedly.
I would love him in a box, I would love him with a fox… I would love him in the grass. I would love him in the air.

Watched the film Awaydays on Sunday. It’s a lovely little violent film on football hooliganism in the Merseyside in 1979.
For people who have a hard time understanding British accents in film – like if Rocknrolla was too much for you – you will get about 30 % of this film. It is full of British slang and lovely Mersey accents.
The real heart of this story is the relationship between the two main characters Carty, played by Nicky Bell, and Elvis, played by Liam Boyle. It sort of has a Brokeback Mountain vibe in a way – a not butt sex way, but in a forlorn looks/ pining way – which is really nice with the other themes in the film of hyper violence and homosocial primal bonding.
On top of great language there is also a fantastic look. It is set in 1979, the boys wear KayWays, they have fantastic hair and a love of adidas sneakers.
The soundtrack is absolutely fantastic. The setting is 1979 which makes most of the tunes post punk and full of disenfranchised energy. Elvis’ love of music initially bonds him to Carty, but it is Elvis’ connections to the hooligan gang The Pack brings Carty to him. There are some beautiful moments between these boys and there tumultuous relationship, which really shouldn’t work and really doesn’t work.
It really is a doomed love story and I really wanted an alternative ending that resulted with them giving each other a nice cuddle.
(But that is how I want every movie to end, whatever).

Norm Macdonald is awesome. I fucking love him. I’ve heard a lot of shit about him, I’ve heard a lot of good things too.
When I met him he was amazing and we hugged a couple of times and he was so fucking sweet.
The end.

Hot boy alert!
Tom Hardy.
I first encountered this magnificent manimal in Rocknrolla – the Guy Ritchie flick.
Mr. Hardy plays Handsome Bob who has the best scenes in the film and pretty much the only reason to watch the flick.
Since Rocknrolla Tom has taken on some more interesting and violent roles. He’s a complete villain in the mini series – The Take and then he plays Charles Bronson – the british criminal, not the actor – in Bronson which came out in England this winter and is supposed to get a North American release in Fall 09.
Last I heard Tom had signed with Tom Cruise’s agent in LA and that he left his baby mama for one of his co stars. Well, we aren’t all perfect.
